At Motherful, we believe every mother deserves more than just a roof over their head — moms deserve community, support, and peace of mind. That’s why we’re launching the Motherful Village, a bold and beautiful vision for an affordable housing community created by and for single mothers.

An Affordable Housing Initiative for Single Mothers

The Motherful Village

Our Vision

The Motherful Village is more than housing — it’s a movement. We are building a safe, sustainable community where single mothers can live with dignity, raise their children in peace, and thrive together.

This village may include:

  • Affordable, cooperative housing designed to meet the real needs of single-mother households.

  • Green spaces for healing, gathering, and play — including gardens, walking paths, and safe play areas.

  • Shared resources and responsibilities, from meal prep rotations to community upkeep.

  • On-site child care support, mutual aid, and wraparound services.

  • Programming and peer leadership, because every mother has something to give and receive.

This is not just housing. This is interdependence. Healing. A future we build together.

Why It Matters

Single mothers face some of the highest housing burdens in the country, often forced to choose between affordability, safety, and stability. The Motherful Village plans reimagine what’s possible by centering mothers’ needs, voices, and leadership at every step of the process.

We believe housing is a human right. We believe in the radical power of collective care. And we believe that when mothers lead, communities are transformed.
